Hitchin Lavender Photographer
Lavender Photography Sessions Hertfordshire
Once again this year I will be running mini shoot sessions at the beautiful Hitchin Lavender!
Hitchin Lavender is open until 8pm throughout the flowering season, around mid to late July the colour of the field is at its peak. The light can be extremely harsh during the Summer Months so I choose to shoot when the light is softer and flattering in the evening. Realising that there will be young children amoungst the family shoots I will be starting at 5:30pm, slot times are below
Mini shoots are sightly more expensive than my regular mini shoots as professional photographers are required to pay a shoot fee to Hitchin Lavender – the price is £199 and include the following :
** 30 minute photoshoot
** 5 high resolution digital files, copyright free (there will be at least 10 images for you to choose from
** Props and cut lavender supplied
**An online gallery on my website to choose your favourites and share with family and friends with the option to upgrade or purchase prints
I am currently only planning two evening this year so these will sell out quickly.
A footnote that images can look very different when shot in sun to cloud, if we have a cloudy evening the lavender is a very deep purple (in full flower), but if its a very sunny day it photographs more pinky.
Shoot dates and times will be as follows:
25th July – 5:45pm / 6:30pm / 7:15pm
27th July – 5:45pm / 6:30pm / 7:15pm
49About Hitchin Lavender and what you need to know ahead of your shoot
There is an entrance charge into the fields which is not included in your shoot fee. You will need to book a ticket for your allocated time on the Hitchin Lavender Website Please see pricing here. You can pick your own lavender which is often used to hold during the shoot, you can then take it home to decorate your home or dry it out and make Lavender bags
As well as taking in the scenery of the Lavender field, there is lots to see and do at Hitchin Lavender, there is a cafe and a fabulous shop where you can purchase lavender plants, skin products, beautiful pots (I have some they are stunning), jewellery, china and much more, great for gifts too!
As you can imagine, where there is Lavender, there are Bee’s, lots of them! The humming sound is lovely and they are so busy collecting their pollen they are not bothered by us, however you need to be aware that there is a sting risk and if your child or any family member suffers with stings, is scared of the bee’s or has an allergic reaction I would not recommend the shoot. However there is the option to sit at the end of the row so not walking through, but again there is always a risk.
I will be armed with some sting releaf cream just in case! But getting stung is rare
Can I bring my dog?
Yes dog’s are welcome to Hitchin Lavender and I love the dogs being involved in the shoot.
How many family members can be involved?
Up to a family of 5 for mini shoots, if you would like a full family shoot please enquire for availability
How do I book?
Please email me for available slots left. Once you have chosen your day and time I take a deposit of £50 with the remaining £149 due on shoot day.
Once the shoot is confirmed I will then send over clothing advice for the mini shoot so you are all complimenting each other and the Lavender.
