Hi – I’m Sally, a Hemel Hempstead photographer with over 12 years’ experience working with families across Herts, Beds & Bucks – and beyond.
I specialise in relaxed, outdoor family photography using beautiful natural light to capture real moments, not stiff poses. Whether we’re exploring woodlands, chasing golden hour light, or just letting the kids run wild in the park, I believe the best photos come when everyone’s free to be themselves.
Over the years, I’ve been honoured to receive multiple awards from The Guild of Photographers, including being named one of their Top Ten Photographers of the Year for my child and family work.
And now, I’m super excited to also welcome families into my brand new studio! It’s a warm, welcoming space where I photograph children, maternity sessions, sitters, dogs, and smaller family groups – perfect for timeless portraits, whatever the weather.

Mini family shoots
Throughout the year, I offer a select number of themed outdoor photo shoots for Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter.
– 30-minute sessions for small families*
– Includes 5 digital images from a choice of approximately 10-15
– Option to upgrade to receive all images
These sessions are for immediate family members including parents and children.

Full family shoots
If you have a big family and are celebrating an anniversary or birthday, this is the perfect option:
– £75 session fee applicable for on location photoshoots
– Up to 2-hour session*
– Gallery of all images for you to choose your favourites (approximately 40+)
– At a location of your choice or I am happy to reccommend one.
* Can include grandparents, aunts, uncles, and four-legged friends.

How it works
In the run up to the shoot
Before your session, we’ll chat through all the details to make sure everything is planned around you.
We’ll talk about the perfect location for your shoot – whether that’s a favourite family spot, a local beauty spot I know well, or somewhere that suits the vibe you’re after. I’ll also help you with clothing choices to make sure everyone feels comfortable and looks great together on camera – you’ll get a full style guide with lots of tips and inspiration.
If there are any must-have shots, special combinations, or moments you really want captured (like grandparents with the kids, a sibling photo, or a family group for the wall), we’ll make a plan in advance so nothing important is missed.
The goal is to make sure the session runs smoothly, feels relaxed, and results in a gallery that feels personal and meaningful to your family.
On the day
On the day of your session, we’ll meet at our agreed location, ready to start your family photography experience.
If we haven’t met before, we’ll take a few minutes to say hello, introduce everyone, and have a quick chat – especially with the kids! I always allow time at the beginning of the shoot for everyone to settle in, shake off any nerves, and get comfortable.
We might have a little wander, let the children explore, or chat about what’s coming up so it feels more like a relaxed family outing than a photo shoot. I find that when everyone feels at ease – especially little ones – the most natural and genuine moments start to happen.
It’s never about rushing into posing or forced smiles – it’s about gently easing into the session so that the photos reflect real connection, laughter, and the little in-between moments that truly tell your family’s story.
After your photoshoot
Your finished gallery will be ready within 2–3 weeks after your session, depending on my editing schedule – and trust me, it’ll be worth the wait!
You’ll receive a private, easy-to-use online gallery where you can view all your beautifully edited images in your own time. From there, you can choose your favourites, create a collection that fits your home and style, and even share the gallery with extended family – perfect for proud grandparents or family living further afield.

Frequently asked questions
Do you have a booking fee?
Yes! There is a £75 booking fee for full family photoshoots which secures your date and covers admin and shoot time
Do you have locations your recommend in Hertfordshire?
Yes! I use several locations throughout the County and am always on the scout for new ones, happy to use spaces that your family is familiar with on full shoots.
What happens if it rains?
I always keep an eye on the weather in the run up to a photoshoot, if its dry I go ahead, and sometimes in light drizzle too, but if its raining heavily we will reschedule the shoot to a date thats suits both parties
Can I bring our dog along to the shoot?
Absolutely! Dogs are always welcome!
Can you help me with frames or prints?
Yes of course. This is something we can discuss when you are choosing your images
What is the cancellation policy?
If you need to reschedule due to illness, we would just reschedule the date. If. you wish to cancel your photoshoot your shoot fee/deposit is non-refundable

A password protected gallery supplied on my website for you to view and share your images with family and friends from the comfort of your own home
10 x high resolution images edited in in my style to the highest standard and supplied via a digital download link in high resolution format
Your selected 10 will be professionally printed up to size 8×12″
