Bluebell Photography Sessions Hertfordshire

Well we have survived the cold snap! A long Winter, lets hope we can now look forward to some warmer weather and put the Winter behind us. Spring has certainly been on hold the last few weeks! Snow is great for the kids, and I love to photograph in it, and I love those cold, sunny frosty winter mornings but now its time for more colourful things! So lets start thinking about all things purple!

About Bluebells and how the sessions work

Bluebells usually flower mid April through until roughly the first week of May but this often changes from year to year so I find booking the last two weeks of April is fairly safe, I will know nearer the time if I can book into May, last year they became sparse and leggy towards the end of the first week of May so I try and keep to these timelines to start booking.

Most bluebells are found in ancient woodland as they prefer moist, shady conditions and the stability offered by a well-established habitat. Bluebells make the most of flowering early in the spring before the surrounding trees come out in full leaf and completely shade the woodland floor

Under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, bluebells are protected and if you dig up and sell a wild bluebell you can be heavily fined!

The first bluebells are believed to have appeared in Britain after the last Ice Age. So they have been around a long time! It also takes at least five years for a bluebell seed to grow into a bulb.

With this in mind when I shoot family portraits in the woods amongst the Bluebells, I take great care not to squash them and usually use clearings, pathways or the numerous logs available to place subjects/families so as not to destroy these beautiful flowers and they are left as we find them for all to enjoy!

Bluebell Mini Shoots £185

Please note these sessions are popular every year and booking early is advised

45 minute photoshoot suitable for individuals, couples or families up to 4 people, family dogs always welcome

A password protected gallery will be supplied to view and choose your favourite 5 images which will be send to you via digital download link in high resolution format and copyright free (additional images can be purchased directly from the gallery)

A £50 deposit is required to secure your photography mini session with the balance due the week before your session date

Clothing advice and shoot location will be emailed to you prior to your session

Full Photography Session – Session fee £70 with Packages starting from £225

This option is for a photoshoot lasting 60-90 minutes sometimes longer, for larger families or anyone wanting a longer session with more varied images.

As above a password protected gallery will be supplied when your images are ready for viewing where you can view and choose your favourites. I have 3 x packages available starting at £225, all packages come with some Professional Prints and my top two packages come with your Digital Images supplied on USB

The session fee is taken at time of booking and secures your date
